James Joins the Office

Until now, the American office scene has been to me like gang warfare, or tribal initiation rituals; something I saw only from the outside, something I could comprehend only through film and literature.  So my conceptions of what office life is like come from Office Space, Dilbert, and, of course, The Office.

Our copier is one impressive machine.  It collates, staples, scans, copies a huge stack of paper instead of one sheet at a time.  Most impressively of all, it rules us.  When it goes on strike, the office grinds to a halt.

Now my caffeine addled brain is grinding to a halt.
